Private House 1 Como, Italy
Overlooking Lake Como, this residence within an early 20th-century building along the Como lakefront reveals a charm suspended between memory and modernity. The project originates from the observation of the original cement tile floors—the true protagonists of the house. Their rich colours and decorative patterns guided the spatial definition, shaping a visual narrative that unfolds from room to room and naturally connects past and present. Walls interact with the floors through contrasts of solid tones and coloured concrete surfaces, creating vibrant and dynamic environments. Furnishings and objects are conceived as part of a curated collection, designed or selected specifically for the space, where each element carries its own identity while contributing to a cohesive whole. The result is an eclectic composition that expresses local tradition without renouncing a contemporary language: a home that resonates with its history and landscape, reinterpreted through a personal and modern sensibility.
