Dimora delle Balze, Italy

Initially conceived as a meeting place, the farmhouse and surrounding land have been revitalised through a project by designer Stefano Guidotti and artist Draga Obradovic. The intervention is based on a meticulous restoration that respects the building’s history, removing later additions to reveal its authentic character and reinterpret it through a refined contemporary language. Each room has been reconstructed using fragments of the original, now largely lost, decorative elements—creating spaces that evoke the past while ensuring modern comfort. Every room is unique, the result of careful research into materials, furnishings and curated objects, each carrying its own story. Colours, textures and finishes are closely connected to the surrounding landscape, shaping environments that feel both personal and immersive. The result is a coherent balance where design and atmosphere coexist, offering a sensory experience rooted in memory yet expressed through a contemporary vision.
